At the FA Disability Cup Finals weekend, the WFA Cup final was played in front of close to 200 spectators last Saturday at St. Georges Park.

Aspire PFC recovered the WFA Cup following their narrow loss last season, with an open and entertaining 4-1 victory against Northern Thunder.

Aspire led 2-0 at half time, courtesy of fine strikes from Jon Bolding. Northern Thunder hit back early into the second period thanks to Premiership top goalscorer Jack Maxwell but a third from sub Rosie-Laura Hodgson mid way through the second half saw Aspire's lead move back to two before Bolding completed his player of the match performance with his hat-trick strike to seal the win.

Speaking exclusively to Sky Sports News, Bolding said,

It's been a pretty amazing day to be honest. It's been a while since the end of the season and we haven't played for a while so there was always a risk coming into this, but we clicked from the beginning and it was a great performance.

Congratulations to Aspire on becoming the winners of the WFA Cup for the 2018/19 season!
