The draw for the 2017 FIPFA World Cup took place on 23rd February and was hosted by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) at their headquarters in Chicago, USA.

As hosts, the USA were allocated Position 1 in Pool A in order to play in the opening game of the tournament. As the only other seeded team, England were placed in Pool B.

The first team in England's group was our close friends from IRELAND and the group started to feel very European as FRANCE were drawn next.  This will be a tough game and England will look to improve from their performance against the Nations Cup champions.  The next team drawn was CANADA and the group was completed with our favourite sporting rivals, AUSTRALIA.

In Group B, UNITED STATES will face DENMARK, JAPAN, ARGENTINA and URUGUAY.

The competition will kick off on Wednesday, 5th July as United States play Denmark in the opening game.  England will start their campaign the next day.  There fixtures are as follows:

  • THURSDAY, 6th July - 09:30: ENGLAND v IRELAND (14:30 GMT)
  • THURSDAY, 6th July - 14:00: ENGLAND v AUSTRALIA (19:00 GMT)
  • FRIDAY, 7th July - 09:30: ENGLAND v FRANCE (14:30 GMT)
  • FRIDAY, 7th July - 14:00: ENGLAND v CANADA (19:00 GMT)
