The WFA are running a Refereeing Powerchair Football course in conjunction with the West Midlands Powerchair Regional League.

Day One (Theory):

Day One covers the theory behind refereeing powerchair football and explains the rules of the game. The theory takes place at Brasshouse Community Centre, Brasshouse Lane, Smethwick, B66 1BA

The day will begin at 9:30am and finish no later than 5:00 pm.

Day Two (Practical):

Candidates will be required to arrive at 9:00am to help set up the pitches for the event and receive pre-game training. Regional league games will take place throughout the day, concluding by 4:30pm. Doug Ellis Sports Centre, 150 Wellhead Lane, Birmingham, B42 2SY


As part of the course candidates will receive:

- Referees top
- Shorts
- Whistle
- Cards
- Flags

The WFA will also provide a DBS check for certification as part of the course fee. Further details will be sent to candidates once they have registered.


Post training requirements:

Simply undertaking the course does not qualify participants to referee official matches. Referee trainees who have attended the course then start on the WFA Referee Development Pathway.
