The WFA runs a Referee Training programme in order to recruit and train Powerchair Football Referees.
The WFA Referee’s course aims to educate potential referee’s in the laws of the game of Powerchair Football so that they are able to referee games to a National Level. The course is a 2 day course involving theoretical and practical work.
Course Overview
Day 1:
- Introduction to Powerchair Football
- The referee process
- Disability Awareness
- Laws of the game
Day 2:
- Laws of the game
- Equipment practical
- Pitch practical
- Refereeing video practical
- Test
Simply undertaking the course does not qualify participants to referee official games. Referee trainees who have attended the course then undertake an assessment by the WFA Referee Assessors over a minimum of 3 games.
