Marking out the Pitch
Powerchair Football uses the outline of a standard Basketball Court, but we then have to add a few extra markings to convert it into a Powerchair Football pitch. The WFA recommends using "Hazard Tape" to mark out the lines. You should check with your venue, they are happy for you to do this.
Below are the 3 stages that you will need to complete in order to have full pitch markings. Please note: You will need to carry out this process on both halves of the pitch.
Goalposts and Corner arcs
- Measure 1m from the corner and make the corner "arc".
- Use the "key area" of the Basketball court as the Goalposts and mark with a vertical piece of tape.

Penalty area
- Measure 1m out from the Goalposts and then 5m into the pitch. These are the edges of the Penalty area.
- Now complete the 8m line to finish the Penalty area.
- Find the centre of the Goal (in 3m from the Goalpost).
- Measure in 3.5m to find the Penalty spot. Mark this with a cross

5m mark
- Measure 5m in from the edge of the corner "arc" (not from the sideline!!!).
- Mark this 5m point with a vertical 50cm piece of tape. This mark is for the Referee and defenders to know where the 5m limit is from Corner kicks.
