The WFA held its National Team trial over the weekend. This saw 17 players that had been selected during the National League season, attend training at Percy Hedley Sports Academy.

The players were put through their paces for two days. Activities and drills aimed at highlighting player chair control, ball control, decision making, reading of the game and general match play were conducted. The players were then asked to play short matches, in which they played with different team mates and varying positions.

A squad of 10 players will be announced on Tuesday. This will consist of 8 team players and 2 reserves.

This squad will then attend a number of training weekends over the summer, in order to prepare to travel to Japan in October.
