Last weekend saw the next round of fixtures take place in The WFA National League. Nottingham Trent University played host to 11 teams from throughout England travelling to Nottingham for two days of competition.

The event took place over the weekend of 17th/18th February and saw 22 competitive fixtures played. Teams travelling from areas such as Newcastle, London and Cornwall played in what was the WFA’s biggest event to date. With over 80 electric wheelchair footballers taking part, the competition was fierce as the league positions started to take shape. The league format is being run in two mini-leagues that will see the top eight teams in the country progressing to a knock-out playoff competition in March.

In Pool A, Aspire PFC maintained their 100% record and remained top, but Northern Thunder recorded 4 more victories to remain in close contact. The final positions in Pool A will go down to the final 2 games in the group, including a big clash between the top two.

In Pool B, South Tyneside Destroyers looked strong winning their first 4 competitive games, however West Bromwich Albion picked up 9 points from a possible 12 to cement their position in the league.
