Allen Harrision

Position: Head Coach
About me:
My name is Allen Harrison. I am 45 years old I have been involved in Powerchair football since 2003. I have been coaching and refereeing since then and I became involved with the development of our sport when it began in England. Since the WFA formed in 2005 I have held a position on the Executive committee.
I have officiated at International level and hold a FIPFA Referee badge. I most recently officiated at the Americas Cup in 2009 and the final of the European Power Champions League in 2010.
I have coached clubs teams for over 5 years at every level. I attended the Powerchair summit in Atlanta, America where the universal rules for the game we now play were created. I was a member of the coaching team for the tournament in 2006. I was offered the opportunity to become Head coach prior to the first ever world cup in Japan in 2007.
Since 2008, I have concentrated on referring in the National and regional leagues, which allows me a firsthand opportunity to observe players in action. This has been done with the intention of selecting a squad of players who can hopefully win the next FIPFA World Cup.
I also advise on the technical aspects of the game, having been involved in the design of the speed test machines and the front attachments which we use in England.

Position: Assistant Coach
About me:
Hi, my name is Jamie Harrison.
I have been involved in Powerchair Football for 5 years and I am the current coach of Northern Thunder Blues. I am a qualified football referee and have been involved with refereeing at the WFA National League for the past 3 years. In 2007, I was part of the National coaching team that attended the first ever FIPFA World Cup in Japan. However, my role within the National squad has developed since then. I began in the role of Technical support, maintaining the chairs, attachments and equipment to ensure the players could perform at their peak. I am now more involved in coaching element of the team, whilst still supporting the technical aspects.
I am currently at Northumbria University studying Sports Development with Coaching. I am in my second of three years and currently debating whether or not to further my education once this degree has been complete.
My main aim within Powerchair Football is to firstly win the WFA Sirus Championship with Northern Thunder Blues, then help lead the National team to its first of many FIPFA World Cups.
